Chambara

Crisp black and white geometry with splashes of color is the art style of Chambara,  a local multiplayer stealth-deathmatch game where players camouflage themselves with the environment. The word chambara translates to “samurai sword fighting” and gameplay consists of sneaking, searching, and ambushing other players in dramatic, stylish duels. It was developed by Team Ok for a 2014 Dare to be Digital competition, and inspired by Genndy Tartakovsky's Cartoon Network series Samurai Jack. It has received BAFTA and Indiecade awards and distinctions; Team ok is comprised of Alec Faulkner, Esteban Fajardo, Catherine Fox, Tommy Hoffmann, Kevin Wong, and Austin DeVries.

This sleek design was created by Catherine Fox, an artist and game developer living and working in Los Angeles, California.
