VGA Gallery welcomes TJ Hughes (aka Terrifying Jellyfish) as our inaugural speaker for VGA Fireside. Hughes is a game designer and digital artist based in St. Louis, Missouri. Hughes works across different media and is currently working on NOUR, a colorful video game about playing with food, which will be released on Playstation 5, PC and Mac.

VGA Fireside is an artist speaker series that presents the stories and work of video game creators and writers. Presented online, the series also functions as a growing archive of those who make and think about video game art and how it responds to their current moment of history.

VGA Fireside is presented in partnership with Chicago Center for Art and Technology, the Independent Game Developers Association Chicago Chapter, and the Media Arts and Game Design Module in Radio/TV/Film in the School of Communication at Northwestern University.
